Welcome to my personal site on the interweb.

My name is Andreas Brokalakis. I'm living in Chania, in the island of Crete, Greece and I work as a freelance Computer Engineer. I provide research and development services, mostly related to hardware design, to research institutions and SMEs.

I'm a graduate of the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department, University of Patras, Greece. I also hold an M.Sc. title from the same university. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Technical University of Crete, Greece.

I work on greek and european projects focused on research and innovation actions. In these projects, my role is that of a technical engineer and/or project manager for my employer, while most recently, I have undertaken the role of the Scientific and Technical Manager of the overall H2020 MEDIATE project. Most of my free time is spent photographing and traveling. Here you can see what I'm up to when I dont work.

I am a proud father of a daughter, that I believe is the most amazing creature on earth, and a happy husband. This family is the most important part of my life - please do not contact me with any proposals that compromise this relationship or require a rebalance of priorities. Also, according to my world theory, one cannot claim the love of his/her child without acknowledging and realising the love, care and right to live of all children on earth no matter their physical status, color, ethnicity, religion, whatever else (children are simply children).
